Convert video to MP3 for free
Extract the audio from a video (an MP4, MOV or WebM) and save it as an MP3: all of it, or just the part you mark. If you'd rather keep the sound without re-encoding, pick M4A. It all happens in your browser: the video is never uploaded to a server, you don't need an account, and it costs nothing.

How to convert a video to MP3
Choose the video
Tap Choose a video and pick an MP4, MOV or WebM file from your phone or computer. It opens right away, because it isn't uploaded anywhere.
Mark the part you want
Audio only: MP3 is already selected. Keep the whole video, or drag the handles to keep just a part; you can also turn the volume up or remove a stretch from the middle.
Save the MP3
Tap Convert and save. When it's done, listen to it on the page and download it or, on a phone, keep it with Save or share.
What you can do
Just the audio, as MP3 or M4A
The MP3 is saved at 192 kbps and opens in any player. The M4A copies the video's own sound as it is when it's AAC (as in almost every MP4 and iPhone video), with no re-encoding.
MP4 to MP3, MOV to MP3
Any video the page opens can become an MP3: MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV, from your phone's camera, a screen recording or a download.
A part or the whole video
Mark the start and end to the hundredth of a second, or remove stretches from the middle (a pause, a mistake): the audio comes out joined into one file.
Volume, speed and fades
Turn the volume up to 200%, speed it up to 4× or slow it down to 0.25× without changing the pitch of the voice, and add a fade in or out.
A maximum size, if you need one
To send it on WhatsApp or by email, pick a Maximum size and the audio is saved at the quality that fits it.
Your video stays on your device
Your browser does the converting. There's no upload, no processing queue to wait in, and no copy of your video on any server.
Questions
How do I convert an MP4 to MP3?
Choose the MP4 and tap Convert and save: the page is already set to save only the audio as an MP3. To keep just a part, mark the start and end on the timeline first.
What quality is the MP3?
It's saved at 192 kbps, a common quality for voice and music. MP3 is a lossy format, so the sound is re-encoded; if the video's sound is already MP3 and you change nothing, it's copied as it is. For the sound without re-encoding, pick Audio only: M4A.
MP3 or M4A?
MP3 opens in any player, car stereo or app. M4A (AAC) is the audio that almost every MP4 and iPhone video already carries: it's copied without re-encoding, so it's faster and loses nothing, and it plays on iPhone, Android and computers.
Is my video uploaded to the internet?
No. The file is read and converted inside your browser, on your own device, and the page never sends it to a server. That's why it starts right away, even when the video is several GB.
Is there a length limit?
We don't set one: it depends on your device's memory. Audio is much smaller than video: an hour of MP3 at 192 kbps is about 86 MB. On a phone, the page warns you when the video is over 2 GB; if the page closes by itself, use a shorter part or a computer.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes: in Safari on iPhone, in Chrome on Android, and on a computer in an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. On a phone, tap Save or share and choose where to keep the audio, such as Files.
Can I convert a YouTube video to MP3?
No. This tool works with files you already have on your device: it doesn't download videos from YouTube or any other site.
Which formats does it take?
It opens MP4, MOV (like the iPhone's), WebM and MKV videos. If the video has no sound, the page tells you before you save. It can also save the video as MP4, MOV or WebM, or as a GIF.
