Mute a video for free
Pick a video and save it without its sound. If you change nothing else, the picture is copied as it is, without re-encoding: it's fast and keeps the quality. It all happens in your browser: the video is never uploaded to a server, you don't need an account, and there's no watermark.

How to mute a video
Choose the video
Tap Choose a video and pick an MP4, MOV or WebM file from your phone or computer. It opens right away, because it isn't uploaded anywhere.
Check that the sound is off
Remove the sound is already ticked. Trim the start and end too, if you like; under the button you see whether the video is copied without re-encoding.
Save the silent video
Tap Mute and save. When it's done, download it or, on a phone, save it to your gallery with Save or share.
What you can do
Muted, without re-encoding
When you only remove the sound, the picture is copied as it is: the video stays identical, minus its audio track, and saves quickly even when it's long.
Or just turn it down
If you don't want it gone, untick Remove the sound and pick 50% or 75% under Volume.
Ready for new music
A silent video is the starting point for adding music or a voiceover in TikTok, Instagram or CapCut.
Trim in the same step
Cut the start, the end or a stretch in the middle, or switch to vertical 9:16 before saving (that does re-encode the video).
Your video stays on your device
Your browser does it all. There's no upload, no processing queue to wait in, and no copy of your video on any server.
Phone and computer
It works in Safari on iPhone, in Chrome on Android, and on a computer in an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, with nothing to install.
Questions
How do I remove the audio from a video?
Choose the video: Remove the sound is already ticked. Tap Mute and save, and the video is saved with no audio track. That's all it takes.
Does the video lose quality?
Not when you only remove the sound: the picture is copied as it is, without re-encoding. If you also trim the start at a point that isn't a key frame, or change the shape or the speed, it's re-encoded, and the page tells you before you save.
Can I mute just one part of a video?
No: Remove the sound takes the sound out of everything you save. If you only need the video of that part, mark its start and end before saving.
Can I replace the audio with music?
This tool doesn't add music. Save the video without sound and add the music in the app where you'll post it, such as TikTok or Instagram, or in an editor like CapCut.
Is my video uploaded to the internet?
No. The file is read and processed inside your browser, on your own device, and the page never sends it to a server. That's why it starts right away, even when the video is several GB.
Is there a size limit?
We don't set one: it depends on your device's memory. On a computer, videos of several GB work fine. On a phone, the video is put together in the browser's memory; if the result is over 1 GB the page may close by itself, so use a shorter part.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes: in Safari on iPhone, in Chrome on Android, and on a computer in an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. To keep the video in your phone's gallery, tap Save or share and choose Save Video.
Is it really free?
Yes. This tool has no paid plan, asks for no account or card, and the video comes out with no watermark. It's made by iaclips, which also runs a separate service that makes clips from long videos.
