Convert MOV to MP4 for free
Pick a MOV (like the iPhone's), WebM or MKV and save it as an MP4. If the video is already H.264 or HEVC, it's copied as it is: fast, at the same quality. If not, your browser re-encodes it. The video is never uploaded to a server and you don't need an account.

How to convert MOV to MP4
Choose the video
Tap Choose a video and pick a MOV, WebM or MKV file from your phone or computer. It opens right away, because it isn't uploaded anywhere.
Check how it will be saved
MP4 (video) is already selected. Under the button you see whether the video is copied without re-encoding or re-encoded, and roughly how big it will be. Trim the start and end too, if you like.
Save the MP4
Tap Convert and save. When it's done, download it or, on a phone, save it to your gallery with Save or share.
What you can do
No re-encoding when it can be avoided
A MOV from an iPhone or a camera almost always holds H.264 or HEVC video and AAC sound, the same as an MP4: only the file around them changes, so it's fast and the picture stays identical.
Re-encodes only what it must
A WebM or MKV in VP9 or AV1 becomes H.264 with AAC sound, an MP4 that plays on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac. If only the sound doesn't fit an MP4 (Opus, for one), just the sound is re-encoded and the picture is copied.
Trim and adjust in the same step
Cut the start or end, change the shape, rotate the video, or pick 720p for a smaller file. Any change to the picture means the video is re-encoded, and the page tells you so.
To MOV, WebM, MP3 or GIF as well
Need another format? Under Format, pick MOV (video) or WebM (video), Audio only: MP3 or Audio only: M4A, or Animated GIF.
Your video stays on your device
Your browser does the converting. There's no upload, no processing queue to wait in, and no copy of your video on any server.
Phone and computer
It works in Safari on iPhone, in Chrome on Android, and on a computer in an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, with nothing to install.
Questions
How do I convert an iPhone MOV to MP4?
Choose the MOV file and tap Convert and save: MP4 (video) is already selected. iPhone videos usually come in HEVC or H.264 with AAC sound, which fit in an MP4 as they are, so they're copied without re-encoding.
Does the video lose quality?
When it's copied without re-encoding, no: it's the same picture and the same sound in a different kind of file. When it's re-encoded, it uses a quality close to the original's. Before you save, the page tells you which of the two will happen.
Will the MP4 play on Windows?
If your video is HEVC (H.265), like iPhone videos recorded in High Efficiency, the copied MP4 is HEVC too: it plays on iPhone, Mac and most recent phones, but some Windows computers need an extension. For an H.264 MP4 that plays everywhere, pick a lower resolution than the video's under Quality (720p for a 1080p or 4K video, for example): that re-encodes it.
Is my video uploaded to the internet?
No. The file is read and converted inside your browser, on your own device, and the page never sends it to a server. That's why it starts right away, even when the video is several GB.
Which formats can I convert?
MOV, WebM, MKV, M4V and MP4. AVI and WMV files can't be opened. If your browser can't read a video or make a format, the page tells you before you save.
Is there a size limit?
We don't set one: it depends on your device's memory. On a computer, videos of several GB work fine. On a phone, the MP4 is put together in the browser's memory; if the result is over 1 GB the page may close by itself, so convert a shorter part or choose 720p.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes: in Safari on iPhone, in Chrome on Android, and on a computer in an up-to-date Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. To keep the video in your phone's gallery, tap Save or share and choose Save Video.
Is it really free?
Yes. This tool has no paid plan, asks for no account or card, and the video comes out with no watermark. It's made by iaclips, which also runs a separate service that makes clips from long videos.
